I just found out that the $760 charge from the hotel does not include the remaining balance of $491 from the wedding chapel. The $760 charge is exclusively for "property damage" that Jesse caused while trying to escape the stairwell which was clearly marked "re-entry", but was locked on all floors. They charged my card without authorization, as it was designated for damages to the room only. It completely wiped out my account, and now they want the $491 for the chapel.

These donations are adding up so fast! Thank you! I would like to send thank you cards and photos to everyone that has offered their support, so if everyone can email me their mailing addresses, I will be sending them out soon. destinyjmartin@gmail.com

Met with a great lawyer today. He said our case is worth investigating, and he took the case! This will be a long process still, but it feels good to have a professional on our side in this. I can't even describe how much everyone's support and donations have helped us work through this hard time. Thanks again. So much.

Jesse and Destiny Martin were married on May 25th, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The honeymoon was like a dream for a couple days,  until Jesse had a horrific accident, falling 10 stories through a vent shaft inside the hotel stairwell. He laid there unconscious for hours until he finally woke up and kicked his way out of the shaft and miraculously walked back to his hotel room, where his new wife had been waiting for him all night, terrified that something terrible had happened.

The dream quickly turned into a nightmare when he was taken to a hospital by ambulance. The doctors discovered that he had fractured both eye sockets, had fractures at the base of his skull and nose, and had a deep laceration on his nose, all the way to the cartilage, which was visible before he received stitches. For the first 24 hours, he was leaking spinal fluid, but fortunately suffered no brain injuries.

After a 4-day stay in ICU in Las Vegas, Jesse was released to the care of Destiny and his parents, who had stayed with them throughout the ordeal, and together they drove back 1100 miles to Oklahoma City.

Jesse will be out of work for at least 4 weeks, as his job requires intensive physical exertion. His wife will work as much overtime to make ends meet, and they will need as much help as possible to overcome this tremendous obstacle. They remain thankful that Jesse survived the fall, no matter what the cost and look forward to spending the rest of their lives together.

Jesse and Destiny Martin would like to thank everyone for their love and support in this difficult time.

I will donate anything I can! I hope you guys get a chance to sue the hotel as well however.

How does one fall through a vent shaft in a stairwell? Why aren't you guys billing the hotel? or better, suing the hotel? I don't feel like you guys should be responsible for the hospital bills if it happened in a hotel.
