In Scotland alone over 250,000 women have lost over £45,000 on average each, because of changes to their state pension age made by the UK Government. This has led to all of these women now facing a harrowing and difficult 6 year wait for their rightful pensions.
Feisty Women is preparing to mount a legal fight to right this wrong. We are a Scottish charity which promotes equality and fair treatment for women over the age of 60. We recognise that many older women face financial hardship because of age discrimination, having already had a lifetime of sex discrimination.
Feisty Women wants to present a challenge through the courts to the UK Government for damages. Our research and evidence leads us to believe that they deliberately and knowingly discriminated against older women through the introduction of the 2011 Pension Reform Act. This Act unexpectedly accelerated the age of state pension entitlement before 1995 changes had even come into effect.

£5000 will pay for an assessment of civil litigation options and better ways to communicate with our growing membership. With your support, we can take action to right this wrong. Help us gain back lost pensions, dignity and justice.
