I had a bunionectomy of 7/11/2014 to resolve terrible and crippling pain in my right foot. The doctors also gave me a bone graft and lapidus (fused my first metatarsal with the cuneiform) to prevent toe shortening and reduce hypermobility. You can view recovery photos here .

Unfortunately, the surgery did not correct the problem or resolve the pain. I am having follow-up surgery on 10/9/2014. The follow-up surgery consists of removing the plate and screws, sawing my first metatarsal in two, adding a new bone wedge (a new type of graft), and correcting the angulation in my big toe, then resetting the plate and screws. Recovery is expected to be 8-10 more weeks.

I have not been able to work (the surgery means I'm non weight-bearing for 8 weeks) and cannot drive. Without my income, we have gotten far behind in our bills and I've had to sell many of my belongings. I cannot afford to rent or buy a knee scooter like I could after my initial surgery, either. I will likely be stuck in bed for several weeks again.

Any help is greatly appreciated. It's quite humbling to even ask. Thank you for considering a donation.
