Give Back to the PCT Challenge

Donation protected
Many of you have expressed your enthusiasm for my crowd-source 5 dollar request to raise $1000 for the Pacific Crest Trail Association for maintenance or land acquisition - already telling me your contribution was in the mail. Thank-you.

For those who have not yet helped in this effort, please try. I am doing this to celebrate my adventure and to allow all you who have been following my progress to join me in giving back. It's such a small request. Five dollars is less than the cost of a bag of popcorn at some lousy movie, hardy a strain on anyone. The beauty of my scheme uses many small contributions to achieve a bigger goal. So many of you have expressed appreciation for my journal posts and photos, so I thought this would be a great opportunity for all of us to give back a little to ensure that the trail is there for all those future adventurers. PLEASE help me by tossing $5 in an envelope right now and sending it to my home.
I'll be back in MI in about ten days and hope to find a huge pile of envelopes. I'll combine the gifts, and send a check to the PCTA. I'll post a photo of the final total for all to appreciate. Please help me.

Kokopelli and I were the first to chip in $5.  Please do this NOW - think with your heart.

As my hike nears its end I've been thinking about how I can give back a little. Living so far away in Michigan limits my involvement with the PCT. I'm a member of the Pacific Crest Trail Association and my yearly contribution is something but hardly commensurate with the tremendous opportunity the trail has afforded me. So I have come up with a plan and I need your help.
Since discovering that my TrailJournals account and Facebook were receiving so much attention, I determined to make it as detailed and enjoyable to read as possible, while also including lots of photos. Now I want to do a little crowd-sourcing with my family, friends, fellow hikers and everyone else who has been following my adventure. I'm sure you know what's coming, but PLEASE do not stop reading now. This will be completely (almost) painless.

Ok, you are still reading. Hopefully you just like my writing and wanted to see how this post ends. If not and you haven't sent off the $5, thanks for a least listening to my cajoling. Do me a favor though, give back soon somewhere. It's a good habit to develop in life.
