Help us go Home

Hi.  My name is Colie.  I've lived on Long Island New York in a house with my parents for 25 years.  I had a happy life, a big family, and lots of friends, but that all changed after my parents divorced.  My mother remarried and moved to Florida because she could no longer afford to live in New York.  Shortly after that we discovered that we could no longer pay for our house.

I was faced with a terrible choice to make.  My father was going to live in an apartment with my brother but he told me that I could only move in with them if I got rid of my cats.  I'm manic depressive and have suffered from anixety attacks since the age of 13--my cats are one of the constants in my life and they keep me happy.  I have been an animal lover since the age of 2 and there was no way I could give up my babies.  But I had a problem since I had only recently gotten a job (due to being unstable because of my anxiety) and I didn't have enough money saved up to get a place of my own.

My mother and my step-dad graciously took me in.  I left behind my car and all of my belongings and took only a suitcase full of clothes and my three cats on a plane to Florida with me.  I left behind my family and my friends and despite being here for over a year I still have no met any new people who I could call my friends.

I've been trying to find a job for over a year now but have not yet found work.  We desperately want to go back home, where our family and all of the jobs are.  Florida is a toxic enviroment, especially for someone who is as depressed as I am.  We live in a very poor area where there is constant crime and we do not fit in.

What we are asking for is enough money to help us with the move back home.  The money would be used to hire movers, rent a moving van, pay for gas, and also pay for our first month's rent in a new house.

Please help our family go back home.
