Help Save My Daughter's Best Friend

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

My husband Kiel and I adopted Ike, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, when he was a baby in 2011. One year later our daughter Kate was born, and they have been best friends ever since.

At Ike's last checkup, we had the Vet draw blood because he'd been lethargic all summer. We found out that he has a problem with his liver. We hoped and prayed that it wasn't serious, but an ultrasound confirmed our worst fears: he has a portosystemic shunt which basically means his little liver is not filtering toxins.

We are completely devasted, most of all his best buddy.

Our only options are surgery or medically managing his discomfort until he would have to be euthanized. We refuse to put down a family member.

Today, I am asking you to donate, so we can save Ike and let him live a long, full life with Kate. No amount is insignificant and every dollar will go towards his surgery.

The operation involves:
-Sedation
-Surgery to close off the shunt on the liver.
-Recovery

We have been quoted roughly $3000-$4000 by local veterinarian surgeons, and we intend to make up the difference with our own funds.

Please donate to put an end to a puppy's suffering and save a little girl's best friend.

Thank you everyone,
Ike, Kate, Jennifer and Kiel
