My Husband saved my life; now a quadriplegic

Donation protected
May 1st 2018 my husband (Kendric) and I were robbed at gun point celebrating our one year wedding anniversary in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The attacker shot at me and my husband Kendric covered me with his body saving my life. Kendric was shot in the neck and his injuries were life altering. He is now paralyzed from the neck down (full story below. He saved my life and took my place. He took a bullet to keep me safe.

Kendric is a wonder husband and father of 3 children who didn't deserve this. He remains positive through all the challenges and barriers your support is greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for all the donations, love, prayers and support. No donation is too small it all adds up.
May God bless it 10 fold. Please share and tell a friend.

- Insurance to rent the van $130 (must have full coverage)

Moving/Housing:
our current apartment is not accessible enough for kendric's needs and he is unable to use the shower forcing him to only receive bed baths. We would like to move into a total accessible apartment or housing.

If there is any additional donations funds left after vehicle and housing I would love to find kendric a inpatient therapy facility (would love to go back to Shepherd Center in Atlanta). To work with the best of the best physical therapists in the country.

Our story:May 1st 2018 my husband and I were robbed at gun point celebrating our one year wedding anniversary in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He worked as a juvenile Justice officer and played AFL football and coached football in Anchorage.

He is now confined to a electric wheelchair paralyzed from the neck down (with some arm function but no hand function) which operates with head motion. We spent 7 months hospitalized and was released in December 2018. Then was hospitalized to additional times between December and March 2019. It has been a long and hard fight but we ARE VICTORIOUS

(Shepherd Center field trip last year)

In honor of my husbands sacrifice I want to celebrate his one year injury anniversary buy asking the public to please help us until we can get on our feet. Many people don't know the struggle and adaption that has to happen when your family is hit with a spinal cord injury. It affects everything and makes life difficult.

My ability to work and provide:
I am his 24/7 caregiver and at the moment I am unable to work full-time because our caregivers are not trained to care for him in the way he needs and his insurance only pays for basic PCA care and not skilled nursing. Don't get me wrong the girls we have are great but they have told me they couldn't care for him alone because its a lot of work. And it is. I do face painting but its been slow and hard to build my business with caring for Kendric. Long term I hope to find a at home based job so that I can financially support our family. Over time life will get normal but we are still adjusting.
(Me doing what I love)

Kendric's social and recreational involvement:
Kendric spends most the time in our apartment unable to attend activities because we don't have proper transportation. This can be very lonely and depressing at times and my goal is to purchase a van so that we can feel normal again. His goal is to become a volunteer football coach with a school, college or league but transportation hinders that opportunity.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and God Bless. You see he is still smiling!!!!
