We are currently a young 'grassroots' nonprofit for Transiting Veterans of Any Branch needing housing while returning back into civilian life.
We believe in "Paying It Forward" by" Helping Those Who First Helped Us."
WE PROVIDE ASSISTANCE IN THE BEGINNING WHEN IT IS NEEDED MOST.
We like to view this as "preventive measures" addressing the enormous veteran homeless rates. Our housing can sway the curve in a grand way. Our goal is to house the discharged soldier at Easily-Affordable price rates while they focus on healing, concentrate on education, and employment opportunities.
Our team and veteran community is different in many ways. First, we have the capability to operate as an "access point" which refers to bigger assisting entities. Access points have definitely proven their worth to their clients, human beings, to be of a huge benefit to finding local assistance and in a variety of ways. Secondly, our community plans to employ veterans to maintain several operations within the organization. Thirdly, depression rates are estimated to drop while living in our housing units. With the aid of canine and equine, each veteran will have purpose and a buddy. Last, for now, our Special events will be very therapeutic in social and cultural ways. These are just to name of few.
TSH administration is diligently researching land/building opportunities, closing costs for the property sales, and investigates locations, neighborhoods, resources, and each community within the Southeastern part of Louisiana and Pearl River County, Mississippi.
THE BIGGER PICTURE:
Is to intervene in the BEGINING. TIMING is critical. With that said, our help starts at day 0. Yes, day zero. What I mean is we will be listed with Dept. Of Defence, TAP registry for those needing housing upon release. This, in turn, prevents stress, worry, and anxiety within the 'soldier.' We can solve their immediate housing need. Also, if the occupant wishes to attend an educational institution, they may stay for their entire program. For this reason, we say that we are "BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN SOLDIERS and HOUSE. With their better-paying jobs that come from skills development, they trained my seek HOMEOWNERSHIP! Long-term outcome, one less veteran that is homeless.
The organization is seeking to purchase or otherwise obtain land in order to build permanent tiny, one-bedroom units with nice yard space. Of course, pets are allowed per person. We will use rescue animals and re-home them. Here are some ways we are able to obtain the land to build on. One way is to receive a bequest. Another way is to acquire long-term usufructs or leases. The more realistic way is to fundraise with events and offers to our community members and businesses. Support with raffles, diner plates, contests, and donations from like-minded Patriots, give to help another.
THE REASON WHY:
The Soldiers' House is very grateful to live in America, "HOME of the Free" which remains to be so by THOSE WHO FIRST HELPED US. UNSELFISHLY. In my opinion, I see no other community more deserving of a 'break" in life than a veteran. Even training is extreme, not just the deployed. Do you know how many people die just training in the field? (You may want to check). Deployment is not necessary to endure Injuries and Traumas.
Jodi is an MMOM. MILITARY MOM ON a MISSION. She has an Army D11 son and sees the need firsthand, upfront, personal, and raw. Her daughter also struggles with housing decisions and financial issues, after deployment in Kuwait just this year, 2021.
THE BUILDING:
The housing will fall into place once the exact location is secured. First, our goal is to secure land. The building phase will come fluidly from volunteers than monetary funds.
Currently, we are building our fan club, supporters, gathering sponsors, and creating a Go Fund Me to reach the MILITARY Community and others who feel passionate about giving back to those who first gave to us. This is the least we could for them. Remember all this is for THEM, the Veteran.
