Sammy’s Cancer Fund
I met Sammy back in 2019, and it was instant love. I am Ryan, and I’m Sammy’s rescue advocate.
You know those pitties that just melt your heart because they don’t know their size or strength but just want to love on every human they meet? That’s Sammy. A total large scale love bug! Our goal is to find this loyal companion and faithful sidekick his forever home or a forever medical foster. Sammy has spent the last three plus years at Camp Canine, a boarding facility in Santa Barbara. He was originally rescued from a shelter in Lompoc as a puppy. Sadly, the right home just never came around, and Sammy hasn’t known the comforts of a forever family.
Sammy was recently diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma, cancer of the blood vessels. We’re not sure exactly what this means for him, but we do know that further treatment will be needed and the expense is not low. We don’t feel comfortable asking a foster or adopter to take on the expense of further treatment, so we are hoping to raise the funds from our lovely community for his next surgery and ultrasound to ensure that the cancer hasn’t infiltrated his spleen or other organs.
A little more about Sammy…You would never know by looking at Sammy that he has any medical issues. He is a happy-go-lucky boy with much enthusiasm for life. He adores every person he meets. He loves his walks whether on the beach, the trails or just strolling through the neighborhood. We want Sammy to know the comforts of having a forever family and living in a home he can forever call his own. Every dog deserves this, and no dog should have to go through cancer treatment without a cozy bed by his humans and a lot of extra love and care.
We are so appreciative of everyone’s generosity and support of our friend, Sammy.
