Hello, I'm Caley Mehs. I'm the original founder of the Love Locker Project.
The idea for the LLP originally came to me about two years ago, when I started seeing so many Little Free Libraries in the community. I thought it was a really neat idea, and how cool it would be, to build off of that idea, and create the same concept, but for winter clothing.
Our first LL has been very well received by the Fife Lake community. On January 21st, 2021 we placed the first LL at the Public Library in Fife Lake, MI.
We stuffed it with hats, gloves, coats, snow pants and even hand sanitizer. All completely free for anyone that needs them.
This LL is available for 24/7 access to anyone.
The goal for this GoFundMe is to have a Love Locker- coming to a community near you!
We want to continue to build and expand this idea.
We feel, every community on the planet could benefit from a Love Locker.
While we have already had so many generous donations of hats, gloves, snow pants and mittens...what we need now is the funds to continue building and placing Love Lockers in different communities!
Gonyer Wood Concepts has generously donated our very first locker.
Now that it's been built, any future lockers are at an estimated cost of $900.00- which includes materials, labor and delivery.
If you'd like to help us bless communities near and dear to your heart, please consider donating to our Love Locker Building Fund!
Our short-term goal is to build 4 more lockers and have them placed before spring. We are considering communities like Grawn, Buckley, Interlochen and Kingsley.
