Leon’s cancer surgery recovery

Last year in Nov 2018 Leon was diagnosed with bladder cancer .  He went through few different treatments but unfortunately it was not successful.  Surgery was really his only option  and he tried procrastinating till the very end .  Every time he saw his doctor the only question he would ask him  “ When can I go back to work after surgery?”
Since the answer was not what he wanted to hear , he kept on pushing surgery away since full recovery could take up to  6 months ..But unfortunately time was not on his side and decision had to be made to have the surgery now .

As a family , we started thinking about what to do about the shoe repair shop .  At first we thought of selling the business because it would be very financially difficult to maintain a store with the overhead of rent , plus more and without any revenue coming in .  But our Dad was very adamant about returning back to work . Since  he is a very loyal , dedicated and helpful person who loves his customers and simply judging by the outpour  of love and support I think the feelings are mutual .   So we decided it would be best to keep the store for him as a  motivation for his recovery !

After reading such heartwarming well wishes on Facebook and with so many people asking how they could help and suggested  to open up a Gofund Me account , we decide humbly to accept the offer.

Please feel free to help with  any amount you can so Leon can fully recover without the extra financial burden stressing upon him  and he can come back to the Rockaways and keep his customers and their feet super happy ...!!!
