Help towards funeral costs for tom

Donation protected
I've never done this before.. I'm not sure where to start really. Many people knew tom but for anyone reading this who doesn't here is his story.

Tom first battled testicular cancer at 15 years old going through chemotherapy, spending many weeks in the hospital and undergoing a major operation. He was eventually declared cancer free and in remission.

Sadly this is not where the story ends. Over the next 16 years he was diagnosed with cancer several times went through chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and too many operations to count. There were complications, side affects ect. At times he was in a lot of pain he suffered with hernias, bad back, gastritis so many health problems I couldn't write it all down. But he kept on smiling, working and being the best brother.

He rarely complained about the cards he had been dealt with, he was a friendly giant. He was big covered in tattoos and always wearing a leather or denim jacket covered in studs, badges and patches.. A lot of them misfits merch. He was a bouncer on the door at the firehouse pub in Southampton to some he looked kinda scary to others but he was such a softie.

Tom found out in October that his cancer was back and this time there was nothing they could do. He and his now wife Andreja decided to bring forward their wedding by a year to october, It was the best day. We celebrated his 31st birthday on December 10th and had an amazing Christmas together but things took over quickly after that.

He stayed strong till the end even though he had completely wasted away. It was like looking into the future and seeing him as an old man who couldn't walk, eat or do anything by himself anymore. But still when we talked he was asking how everyone else was not concerned for himself at all. On Wednesday 29th Jan 2020 at 9:45am he passed away peacefully in his sleep.

We are all completely devastated. We've had hundreds of messages from all over the world from close friends to people who had met him a couple of times but obviously he had left quite an impression on, many of them had no idea he had been sick. I know it sounds cliche and trust me he could be a stubborn pain in the arse at times but he really didn't have a bad bone in his body. Even though we knew that this time he wasn't going to beat this it hasn't made it any easier.

The last thing anybody wants to think about at the moment is money but unfortunately that's life. So far the funeral costs have risen to well over £5,000. We haven't been splashing out on anything fancy but the legal costs along with everything else keeps going up.My family is not that well off, we all work and try our best but nobody thought we would be planning Tom's funeral so soon. I'm just asking if you could spare anything at all to help towards the costs it would be so much appreciated and if you can't then ease share this . I didn't know what to set the goal at, I honestly would be shocked if we met that goal but really anything would be great.

If you've managed to make it this far then thank you for taking the time to read Tom's story and please share it.
