Help Jason fix his family home

2020 has been a devastating, tough year for us all. However, there is one family in Wickford that have been through the wars and unfortunately will have to continue fighting. Family man Jason has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and needs our help. A plumber for most of his life, Jason has been in the building trade throughout his career and so would never usually ask for help when it comes to refurbishing his home but due to his deteriorating condition he hasn’t been left with any other option. For years, Jason has been carrying out home improvements but with a busy work schedule, he has never quite finished it. Unfortunately, he has now run out of time, money and strength and is desperate to ensure his house is safe and comfortable for his lovely family. Now is our chance to come together as a community and help Jason fix his home so that the family can continue to make memories and let Jason’s spirit live on.

 As a local company ourselves, Close Brothers have decided they want to help Jason and his family in this difficult time.  We have visited Jason’s house to see what work needs to be carried out and overall, to ensure the home is safe and comfortable, a minimum amount of £4,000 needs to be spent. This figure includes works to install new windows, fascias and soffits amongst other works. Close Brothers have decided that we will put up 50% of this cost into ‘GoFundMe’ but would greatly appreciate the local communities help to raise the remaining money.

 We understand due to the current climate money may be tight and time limited, but if you could spare a moment and any change, no matter how little, it would of great help. Let us all come together as a community to help this family and to relieve Jason of this worry so that he can begin his new journey secure with the knowledge that his family are safe and comfortable. If there is any remaining money, we would love to do something nice for Jason’s family in this devastating time.
