Help Eithan get to Lifesaving World Championship

My name is Tessa and I am the proud mom of 15 year old Eithan, who was recently named to the Canadian National Youth Men's team for Lifesaving Sport. The team will represent Canada at the Lifesaving World Championships 2022, which will be held in Riccione, Italy.
Eithan has been swimming his whole life and began training with the Saugeen Shores Lifesaving club in Port Elgin when he was seven. He is from Dobbinton and is currently in grade 11 at Saugeen District Senior School. Eithan has trained thousands of hours at the Port Elgin pool and in Lake Huron in the summers, often early in the morning and on weekends.
Lifesaving Sport is a demanding, multidisciplinary sport that combines athletic ability with lifesaving skills and rescue equipment. It was recently recognized as a sport by the International Olympic Committee and the Commonwealth Games Federation, but is not yet part of their programs. Lifesaving sport has the unique distinction of being the only sport in which skills are learned for humanitarian purposes and then applied in competition.
The Lifesaving World Championship 2022 is a two week long event that will be held in September next year. There is a set price for an athlete on the Canadian team to attend. The $5000 cost includes his flight, accommodation, food, transportation, and equipment rental. The participants do not stay with parents; they room with teammates in a sequestered area and will get to know lifesaving athletes from all over the world. Parents/guardians or supporters may attend but must organize and finance their own trip outside of the $5000 required for Eithan.
Our goal is to fundraise the cost of getting Eithan to Italy, so that he can proudly represent Canada at this event and enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Any donations, big or small are greatly appreciated.
