Help bring Kandy to the UK

Donation protected
Kandy was found on the beach in Hikkaduwa, Sri Lanka, with a huge knife wound on her side. Her owners decided they no longer wanted her and to get this loving little dog to leave them alone attacked her with a machete.
The pup – who is believed to be around one-year-old – was luckily found by a local dog charity worker who took her in and stitched her back together.
But now she is fully recovered, and despite her horrific attack she still trusts humans completely and would follow them everywhere.
The charity has issued seven rehoming appeals with zero interest and was planning to return her to the beach and a life on the streets.
Having been to Sri Lanka twice in recent years we know something awful will just happen again – dogs are not treated well on the streets and this little girl will just follow the wrong people.
We have contacted the charity to say as a last resort we will take her, and they will now give her all her vaccinations and quarantine her (not as awful as it sounds – just means she stays over there for three months after her jabs).
We are now trying as hard as possible to raise the £1,000 to bring her to our Warwickshire home by the end of December. This will pay for her travel, vaccinations, travel papers and boarding.
Flying her back to the UK is not something we take lightly. We already have a rescue dog and are aware people may say there are ‘enough dogs in this country’ – and after spending most Christmas Days volunteering at Dogs Trust, we are aware of this fact too.
But we know we are Kandy’s only shot at a home and her future would be doomed on the Sri Lankan streets if we didn’t step in and help.
Please support us if you can.
