Flyin Fish Youth Cycling

Donation protected
Dereck Fish lived his life to the fullest, impacting the lives of all those who were fortunate to cross his path. He was extremely talented, passionate  and always willing to lend a hand to those around him. His kindness, encouragement and  sense of humor were as epic as his mountain biking career. Behind that infectious smile of his was an individual who struggled with the impacts and symptoms of ADD and periods of deep depression.
Dereck's passion for cycling was more than just a hobby,  it was his life. He was happiest when he was sharing this passion with others especially with those who would otherwise not have  had the  opportunity.  We would like to honor the legacy of Dereck by creating a non-profit in his name "Flyin Fish Youth Cycling " with the goal of providing mountain biking opportunities to urban middle school youth with a special emphasis on youth diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. We would like your help in funding this effort to obtain a fleet of mountain bikes and trailer system . Our goal is to expose urban youth to nature, teach them about bike safety/maintenance , build their confidence/ self-esteem, and show them the value of physical activity and adventure.  Robin Sweezy,  Assistant Principal at Jenks Middle School in Pawtucket  RI, and mountain biker along with Barbara Flagg,  Dereck's mother are working together to form a non profit foundation so that Dereck's memory can ride on . All funds donated through GoFundMe will be transferred to the non profit when it is established. A tax exempt EIN will be available in the coming weeks.
