COVID-19 Relief Passion Project

COVID-19 Relief Passion Project is a group comprised of over 70 high school students in Orange County. As many communities suffer the effects of COVID-19, our mission as high school students is to inform and serve the members of our communities with goals of helping those in need and bringing awareness to prevent the virus’ spread. High school students have united to form the Covid-19 Relief Passion Project whose goal is to provide support and hope in the midst of this global pandemic. Participating students are creating a sense of community and providing relief during a time of uncertainty and panic

Since the rapid expansion of our group, we have divided into 8 task forces: art, sewing, face shields, business, outreach, research, writing, and distribution. The art task force has created artistic pieces to provide emotional support, activities from home, and countless flyers. The outreach group has managed social media, reached out to hospitals and other organizations that may need our products, and helped us get featured in 10 news articles. The research group has research a wide range of subjects related to COVID-19, which the writing group wrote articles on, one of which got featured in the L.A. Times! The business group has managed all the finances, while the distribution group has helped distribute face masks and face shields to those in need. Our teams sewing and making face shields have handmake over 700 face masks and over 700 face shields, which have been distributed to first responders, old-age homes, and families of all occupations locally, nationally, and internationally!

After the writing group had the opportunity to listen to the story of Auntie Leang, who survived the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, we partnered with a group of Cambodian women called Just Pure Goods who have left prostitution and trafficking and are now sewing and selling face masks to help pay for their education and necessities. 

Our group is making big changes in the community, but in order to keep doing so, we need your support! Our members have huge goals to distribute masks and face shields to all who may need, including more of our local community, such as schools, and our global community, such as Kenya.

We don't only need money, we need volunteers!
