B-Town Piano Project
B-Town Piano Project is a collaborative artistic effort spearheaded by local IU Audio Engineering professor, Dr. Chandler Bridges, to bring music and musical instruments to the public in Bloomington Indiana. Through the efforts of Dr. Bridges and students of the IU Audio Engineering Department, we collect, tune, and repair pianos before having them commissioned by local artists and then placed throughout the city of Bloomington for public use. This project not only allows for easy access of professional quality pianos to the general public, but also allows for artists to showcase their own unique art style and display it somewhere in Bloomington.
Not only are we actively seeking and moving pianos, but we are also paying professionals to tune and repair the pianos out of pocket. Moreover we are commissioning artwork to be displayed across the city and teaming up with local businesses to place these pianos. Additionally, we are monitoring the condition and upkeep of these pianos in the hopes that they last in the community for generations to come.
We set our goals high in the hopes that we can team up with more artists and businesses in Bloomington to bring music to every corner of this wonderful city. We are asking for the support of anyone who believes in the mission that we have set out to accomplish and thank you for your support! We hope to reach our goal by this time next year so that we can bring tons of these pianos across the city!
