Figuring out life after high school can be overwhelming when students are trying to find the information to help make their decision making process, Children’s Day Higher Ground Partners Program assist them in becoming more lazar focused which leads to a informed decision about higher learning & the career path that follows.

A report, which had the cooperation of 33 governors, showed how many of the students in states completed their degrees, broken down into different categories , including whether enrollment is full- or part-time, or at a two- or four-year institution.

The numbers are stark: In Texas, for example, of every 100 students who enrolled in a public college, 79 started at a community college, and only 2 of them earned a two-year degree on time; even after four years, only 7 of them graduated. Of the 21 of those 100 who enrolled at a four-year college, 5 graduated on time; after eight years, only 13 had earned a degree and in California the statistics are even more grin.

Travis Patterson said, “I knew there weren’t going to be many job prospects for me until I got my PhD” 23 a 2010 graduate of California State University Fullerton. He is working as an administrative assistant for a property management company and studying psychology in graduate school. While it may not have anything to do with his degree, “it helps pay my rent and tuition, and that’s what matters.”
