My name is Everett and this is a fundraiser for top surgery to make me feel 100% comfortable in my body.
For the past 2 years I have worn a binder every single day. The binder allows me to have as flat a chest as possible, but it has taken a negative effect on my health as it has affected my ability to take in full breaths and lead an active, healthy lifestyle. From the smallest of tasks -- walking quickly or climbing a flight of stairs -- I struggle consistently to breathe. Top surgery will allow for me to confidently and comfortably go through life without having to worry about what physical activities I might encounter that day.
I have found a reputable surgeon in Plantation, Florida that accepts my insurance for the majority of the surgery costs. However, there is still a sufficient deficit that leads me to asking you, my friends, for financial support. The grand total for the surgery is 8,000. My insurance covers 5,000 of that. Leaving me with 4,600 in surgery bills to cover. The other cost I have to focus on is my travel/post recovery expenses which are estimated at 900. That means I need to raise $5,500 by February 10, 2017 to be able to afford this surgery.
I have always had a difficult time swallowing my pride and asking for help, but without your support, there is absolutely no way I will be able to feel comfortable in my own skin. Will you please help me move forward with no longer having to bind, and getting to experience life without hesitation of physical barriers that come with binding?
From the bottom of my heart, it would be deeply appreciated if you donated so that I can undergo top surgery as soon as possible.

****UPDATE: While I am honestly humbled and overjoyed with how life is going, it's important to reflect on the things that don't always go your way, too. As many, if not most, of you know, I was supposed to be getting out of top surgery right now.
And to be real: I'm devastated that I wasn't able to have top surgery today. But because of my current headache situation and needing to make sure everything is okay, I had to postpone surgery. I have rescheduled my surgery for this February to allow enough time for me to feel 100% again and now I'll be able to save up the difference.
To everyone that has donated and shared kind words: thank you so much for supporting me! I look forward to being as healthy as possible and having surgery this February.
