Everesting Hearst

Tax deductible
This Thanksgiving, November 22nd, 2018, I will be attempting an EVERESTING on Hearst Road (road up to Hearst Castle).  Everesting is when you ride a bike up and down a set stretch of climb to attain the elevation gain of Mt. Everest (29,029 feet) on one ride (no sleep).

My oldest dog, GU, aka THE GREAT CHIWEENIE, was rescued by Short 'n Sweet Dog Rescue (Rescue Alliance) and I was lucky enough to adopt him there.  There is no amount of money that I could pay for the joy and happiness he has given me and the smiles he has brought to the thousands of people when we used to ride together.  Even in my saddest/roughest moments in life he has been (along with CHOMPS) the reason for me to get out of bed and enjoy life.  I want to continue to give thanks to this great organization that rescues dogs from kill shelters and from everyday life situations so others can have this joy I've experienced.  Short 'n Sweet Ranch is run by Debby Sweet on Jack Creek Road.  She works hard to keep her ranch running and I am thankful to her everyday for doing what she does.

On average, it costs them $700 per rescued dog, so my current goal would help rescue at least 20 dogs.  Costs include vet care including spay/neutering, dental cleaning (especially for older dogs), and the normal everyday expenses (food).  Some dogs never find their forever home, but here they are giving them a chance.  My dream is to be able to raise $29,029, but I'm starting at a figure that you can picture (20 dogs rescued).  Any amount is appreciated and if you can't donate, please consider when you get a pet adopting from your local pet rescues.

Adopt a pet.  Ride a bike.  Smile.
