Evan Thomas Benefit Fund

Donation protected
Evan Thomas is an 11 year old 6th grade student from Glenview Middle School located in East Moline, Illinois. In December, Evan was hospitalized in ICU following a sudden onset of an acute episode of Leukemia and a simultaneous stroke. This illness resulted in Evan having several brain surgeries in order to save his life. He is currently receiving treatment at OSF Children’s Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. Evan has a long road ahead of him with recovery and rehabilitation.  In April, Evan will be transferred to a rehab facility in Chicago for intensive in-patient care, putting him even farther away from his family and home. To complicate matters, Evan’s family car has broken down and his mother is currently taking the bus back and forth from East Moline to Peoria which is 1 ½ hours away. Evan’s illness has prevented his parents from working as his mother needs to be with Evan, and his father is unable to work due to not having a running vehicle. There are other children in the family, and Evan’s parents need help with transportation and other financial constraints put on the family at this time. East Moline School District 37 Staff is working to help the family in any way possible. Teachers are conducting district-wide fundraising, and students are collecting money to help their friend in need. Any amount donated to help the family would be greatly appreciated. This family needs to focus on Evan’s recovery, and it is our hope to lessen the financial strain they are currently experiencing.
