Solar Bench for Downtown Laconia

My name is Bree, I am a citizen of Laconia, and a downtown business owner. I am trying to raise funds to purchase a Soofa solar-powered charging bench to be placed in the heart of downtown, near the newly installed millstone fountain, at the corner of Pleasant St. & Main St.
The Soofa bench is an all-in-one unit that allows you to charge up to 2 mobile devices solely on the energy it collects from sunlight. These benches were developed in Massachusetts, and have been tested in New England weather! It installs just like a regular bench, but offers truly free energy.
Downtown Laconia is at the beginning of a wonderful revitalization, and I believe this can greatly add to the development of a 21st century downtown experience. Being environmentally conscious as well as technologically innovative, is a wonderful path to future success for our community. Let this be one of the first steps.
A single bench costs roughly $3,800. Plus delivery, installation hardware, and % that this site collects, rounds it out to the $5000 total.
I would love to see this funded, so we can purchase and install this bench in time for spring!
Once this project is funded and complete, there is the option to add a plaque to the bench. I would LOVE to be able to write on the plaque "Donated by the citizens of Laconia".
