Kidney Transplant

Our names are Aubree, Nicole, Jessica, and Alexis. We are four sisters from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania working together to make life a little easier for our deserving mother. We need your help! First, we would like to give you a little background on our courageous mother's journey.
At the age of 35, our mother Diane Fanelli, was diagnosed with stage 4 Inflamatory breast cancer. At the time of her diagnosis, she was given a 10 percent chance of survival. After a mastectomy and chemotherapy, our mother then spent a month in the hospital being treated with high dose chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, followed by a month of radiation. After a few years of positive doctor visits, faith and willingness to survive for her girls, our mom's cancer was in remission.
Ten years later, at age 45, our mother was diagnosed again with breast cancer; this time in her other breast. Luckily, she caught it in it's early stages and the only treatment that was needed was another mastectomy. After follow up doctor visits, she again received the relieving news that her cancer was in remission.
Fast forward 9 years, at age 54, our mom suddenly began experiencing a series of high fevers. After multiple tests, she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, renal failure, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, and high cholesterol. After further testing, she was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome and Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis syndrome (FSGS). In simpler terms, our mom developed kidney disease. This diagnosis led to a 6 week hospital stay at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington,PA. Fifteen days after being released, one of her medications had poisoned her blood, leading to 9 blood transfusions and a 2 week stay in the Intensive Care Unit.
Today, our mother is 56 years old. After 2 years of tests, various trial medications, and multiple hospital stays, doctors have determined that both kidneys are fuctioning at only 10 percent. She is in need of a kidney transplant. Years of medical, pharmaceutical, and house-hold bills are piling up, as well as the newly added expense of transplant fees. Our mom, on average, works 44 hours a week and is still struggling to make ends meet. Extreme fatigue and severe edema (swelling) are two of the most debilitating symptoms of her disease. Understandably, she experiences extreme exhaustion working this many hours a week.
Even through all of these hardships our mother rarely complains and continues to remain strong for us. She continues to work and attempts to make life as normal as possible even on her worst days. Our mother has always been there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and we would like to do the same for her! She has a ton of fight in her and a lot of life to live! We are asking for your help raising the funds needed for the transplant and after care. Please help us to alleviate our mom's financial burden! Every dollar helps and is greatly appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to read our mom's story. God Bless!
