Nursing Care and Medical Management

Nancy is a 7 year survisor of ALS. Her husband of 20 years, Tom sterling, passed away 3 years ago leaving her with a full time nurse and this horrific disease. Her funding has been depleted and she is facing a nursing home without help with her medical and nursing expenses.

Nancy is relentless in her efforts to raise funds for the als research using only her dynovox, her only communication and contacting her congress men and women pushing for support of medical needs of als patients throught the state of maryland. Her nurse for the past 5 years is her constant companion caring for her 24/7.

Her family is treading water to keep her out of a nursing home where she will not get the care that has kept her alive. I quote Nancy: "I truly never thought I would live this long".

8 years ago. Nancy was a full time physical therapist, a gold medal swimming seniors champion, an active barbershop chorus and quartet singer and a mentor for weight watchers. Now, without a voice and unable to move from her chair without a lift, she depends on her caregivers for her very existence. On her behalf I reach out for the support she needs to give her peace of mind for as long as she can survive this horrific disease.
