Insurances for emergency volunteers

Donation protected
Australian Citizens Radio Emergency Monitors Inc (ACREM) is a volunteer Public Benevolent Institution providing emergency radiocommunications and monitoring of CB emergency channels. They receive NO form of funding or sponsorship and must raise every dollar needed to continue saving lives. Established in NSW in 1975, ACREM operates in NSW, Queensland and Victoria and despite mobile phones, its volunteers continue to help save lives every day, especially when storms, fires or floods cut vital telephone and electricity networks leaving many communities isolated.

ACREM desperately needs funds to finance annual insurances. Currently volunteers bear much of the burden of providing this and more, and generally go unthanked for their many hours of tireless work in the community, especially during major emergencies and disasters. Unlike some other groups ACREM must fund insurances themselves, with no form of funding or assistance from outside sources.

With a severe bushfire season recently past, and the devastation of cyclone Debbie, ACREM volunteers are gearing up for another busy period and need to be ready to step into action when needed. These funds would go a long way to helping them be able to help their communities. Remember, it could easily be YOUR life they help save next!
