I'm a reproductive rights advocate working in Wisconsin (Scott Walker's Wisconsin).
I moved to here from Australia in July, 2014.
In February I was rectruited to join the board of NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin.
For months, I've worked my butt off to lift the organization out of a year-long hiatus. We've launched campaigns, lead protest marches, and held fundraisers.
In July, 2015 I became the Chair of the 501(c4), meaning that I am now a leader of the political arm of the pro-choice movement in Wisconsin.
Now, I'm undertaking a fellowship at the Wisconsin Women's Policy Institute so that I can apply what I know about political campaigning and feminist action to Wisconsin.
The Institute, run by the Wisconsin Women's Network, costs $1500 per fellow to run. NARAL found $300 in its budget to sponsor me. I'm chipping in $200. Your contribution will ensure that the women who come after me can benefit from the Institute too.
ABOUT NARAL
NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin advocates for abortion access and other reproductive rights for women across the state.
Although it carries the NARAL brand, it's self-funded and volunteer run. We have one part-time staff member who keeps the ship afloat. The rest of the work is done by unpaid board members. With a hostile state government and the war on women, our work is more vital than ever.
