Elise Billmaier Transplant Fund

Elise Billmaier is a 18 year old senior at Findlay High School in Findlay Ohio.  She has a 4.1 GPA.  She loves to play the guitar.  She is also an awesome artist.  She has been accepted to Capital University in Columbus Ohio, with plans on becoming an art therapist.

In January of this year she was diagnoised with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a form of blood cancer.  Elise will need a bone marrow transplant to survive.   Since her immediate family members were not a good bone marrow match, her doctors went to the National Donor Registry to find a suitable bone marrow match.   For more information on bone marrow transplants go to; bethematch.org.  A donor match was recently located on the registry!  The next step in this process is to get Elise strong and healthy to accept the transplant.  Our hope is that the transplant will happen with in the next 30 days!  Elise will need to stay in the hospital at least a month or longer.  Please pray for a sucessful transplant with no complications or marrow rejection.

All donations received will go towards Elise's transplant treatments and related medical cost.  The family is very grateful for the many prayers and support they have received from family and friends.  Thank you and God Bless!

Since this campaign was set up there has been many changes for Elise.  I (Steve Kinn - Elise's uncle) set this campaign up to help with her medical bills and any related medical cost to Elise and her family.  During the first 6 months of 2017 Elise has spent more days in the hospital than she had been in her own home!  As you can imagine her medical bills will be extraordinary.

In March of this year (2017) her MDS progressed to AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia).  Elise went through aggressive chemotherapy to destroy the leukemia cells.  In April her leukemia was gone, which then allowed her to have her life saving bone marrow translplant to cure the MDS!  During the months that followed Elise's health started to improve!  Her blood counts started to rise!  In August 2017 she started her first year of college at Capital University!

In early September her platelette count had began to drop.  She had a bone marrow biopsy and it revealed that her leukemia had returned.   She is currently undergoing chemotherapy again and was recently admitted back in the hospital for pneumonia as I am writing this update.
