Help me find a home!

Hello! My name is Eli, and I’m currently living in a homeless shelter in Portland, Oregon.

I was born to vehemently Catholic parents on the east coast, and they were emotionally and mentally abusive. For example, my mother once claimed that my soul was irreparably damaged because I had lied about my homework – which is not unusual in our relationship and only one small instance of this abuse. When I told them that I am transgender (female-to-male), my relationship with my parents deteriorated even further. Eventually, I ended up in a psych ward.

Luckily, I’ve managed to leave that situation. It was the right decision, but doing so has left me in a city with which I’m not as familiar and with fairly minimal funds. I’m currently safe and working towards being a productive member of society, but I need some help in the meantime. Any funds that can be raised will be used toward securing more permanent housing, paying for community college, and holding me over if I end up in between jobs.
