Northeastern DPT Ecuador Trip 2015

Hello everyone!

We are a group of 15 students from the Northeastern University Physical Therapy Doctorate Program in Boston, Massachusetts. This year, we will be spending our Spring Break 2015 doing a volunteer service trip to two cities in Ecuador: Quito and Latacunga. While in Ecuador, we will be spending our time at an orphanage, For His Children Orphanage, to provide care and physical therapy to children with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and other life-altering impairments.

These orphanages were created to provide essential care and love to children who have been abandoned or whose families can no longer afford the costs of medical care that they so desperately need. During our time in Ecuador, we will be helping to feed the children, assist with all of their activities of daily life, engaging in aquatic and music therapy, teach the children and caretakers how to use iPads for communicational needs, instruct on the use of Kinesiotaping, and promote strength and mobility through fun and engaging play therapy.

We need to raise funds for this trip in order to pay for the costs of physical therapy equipment, supplies, wheelchairs, shoes and a variety of other expenses for the children in Ecuador. Any donation would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for considering to aid us in giving help to these wonderful children!
