Empower Girls thru Horses
Donación protegida
Last spring, HerdWise partnered with Aledo Independent School District in a 10-week program to teach life and leadership skills to girls dealing with issues like being bullied, low self-esteem, divorce and (really) tough family situations. Our primary goal was to increase their self-confidence through working with the horses and as a team.
It worked! (We knew it would. Horses are so good for girls!)
We are thrilled to report that based on questions asked before and after, teachers reported an average increase of 65% in the girls' confidence, self-esteem and responsibility toward their school work. Great news!
And we loved hearing things like this from the parents:
**I can really tell a difference in her. She's much calmer with her brother and sister.
**She's been such a better helper around the house. Thank you.
**Since she's been coming here, she just plain handles things better.
We are excited to continue our partnership this fall with another 10-week program. Upcoming Spring plans include adding an additional group from middle school or high school as well.
Here's where we could use your help.
Our 'wannabe' arena location is covered in piles of dirt and rocks. This is a much more private area with better protection from the weather. It's also safer for the horses.
We're raising funds to level the dirt and create a great, new space for the girls to work with the horses.
All funding is greatly appreciated. Know that you are part of a powerful, positive change in how these girls think about themselves. This will affect every aspect and time period of their lives.
...and our horses THANK YOU, too!
Roxy, Gus, Flo and Rooster.
