We have always been there to help out our friends, family, and strangers as best as we can. So it is hard and uncomfortable to come out and say this, but now we need help. 2014 has not been very friendly to us.
We got slammed in April with winter utility bills (as a lot of Toledoans did) due to the harsh winter and inefficient meter monitoring by the companies. We worked on getting payment plans set up with the companies as to not cause too much of a problem.
Then Crystal got into a head-on collision back in May. She is fine but the car was totaled. The insurance company did not give us enough to reasonably replace the car, so we had to finance a new car.
Then in June, she ran over something in the road that tore the underside of her van apart. The van is drivable, but still needs repairs.
Then in July, a tree fell on our garage. The insurance company paid for the repairs to the roof, but we had to use the money to make our bill payments. The garage is still not repaired.
Now in September, Ron was involved in a roll-over accident with the new car. He is fine. The car has not been evaluated by the insurance company yet, but it is likely to be considered a total loss.
We still need to pay the lawyer for Crystal’s accident, and now we need to add the lawyer fees for Ron’s accident. Crystal has been trying to find a job in her career field, but so far has been unsuccessful. This is leaving us as a single income family of 5. Ron has been doing everything to make sure ends meet. But now it is getting to be too much.
We need to pay off 2 lawyers, replace a car, get the van fixed and replace the roof of the garage.
