Moss of the Woods Camera Fund

Donation protected
My name is Emily Scott, and I am the owner and designer of Moss of the Woods Jewelry, a one-woman run, Etsy based jewelry shop dedicated to bringing affordable, handmade botanical resin jewelry to botanists, herbalists, and nature lovers of all description. You may or may not be familiar with my Tumblr, in which I post images of my work and small blurbs about my process and life in the backwoods of Western MA.

Recently, my old digital camera, which has served me well throughout the life of my business, finally, though unexpectedly, died a natural death. Now, bereft of a camera, I am unable to operate my business or add new items to my shop. I need a new camera, and desperately, and I am currently financially unable to invest in one myself. However, I thought this minor tragedy would serve as a good opportunity to upgrade to a proper DSLR camera.

I've always had a keen interest in photography. I live in a beautiful valley of the Appalachian Trail, at the base of historic Mt. Greylock, and have long yearned for a proper camera set up to bring images of this beautiful landscape, and the plants and animals therein, to my friends and customers on my blog.

I'm deeply excited by the prospect of not only creating better product photography of my work and jewelry, but of the prospect of creating a more enticing visual narrative of the wild places from which that jewelry originates.

Regardless of donation amount, all donators who include their Tumblr url will be given a shoutout on the blog at the end of the campaign.

All money from this fundraiser will go towards the purchase of a DSLR camera and a proper lens, probably a Nikon D5100 or similar. Any and all overages will go towards accessories and lenses necessary for landscape and macro photography.

Thank you so much, in advance, for helping my dreams come true, and thank you to all wonderful people who have helped me get here in the first place.

Cheers!
-Emily, Moss of the Woods
