Dr Locs' First Exhibition

Hey there! My name is Chimere a.k.a. The Natural Hair Lady! For over ten years, I’ve taught people to love their natural hair.  I have traveled across the country working with countless clients and training other natural hair stylists on how to install, groom, and style locs and dreadlocks. 

The loc'd hair community is definitely growing rapidly. Over the past few years, I've seen an increase of requests for locking hair. 

Now here’s the deal: for the past 10 years, there has been an enormous natural hair boom in the US. I’ve personally experienced a huge boost in business after Chris Rock’s documentary, Good Hair, hit theaters in 2009. Thousands of women chose to stop chemically processing their hair. 

Because of this emerging trend, many of the top beauty and hair care companies have decided to offer new product lines as a way to stay afloat in this growing demand for natural hair care products. However, they forgot about the needs of the Loc'd Community. Loc'd hair is different than other natural hair styles and requires different cleaning, care and maintenance needs.

As a loctician, (a stylist who creates, maintains and styles locs) I’ve heard countless stories of men and women searching online for any sort of solution for the build-up problem that comes as a result of using products some products. 

Build-up is the unfortunate experience that happens when heavy, creamy products doesn’t wash out of the hair. Prolonged build-up eventually creates a smelly stench and in some cases bacteria and mold that grows in the hair.

After many trials and fails with using hair care products on the market, I noticed the loc community wasn't getting the attention and solutions it deserved. So I decided to once and for all solve this problem. I set out to create a light weight formula that caused no build-up and added extra moisture to locs.

I began researching ingredients, I consulted with a chemist, and conducted several tests on my clients and soon after the specialty product line, Dr. Locs was born.

Since it's conception, my clients have been the driving motivation of the Dr. Locs brand.  My goal is to position Dr. Locs as the #1 brand for the Natural Hair and more specifically Loc'ed Hair Community. 

2015 was a great year:  Dr Locs is solving more problems than anticipated such as cleaning up flaky scalp complications and adding the right amount of moisture to dry locs. With these added bonuses, Dr Locs has also managed to maintain 5 star online reviews from returning customers.

This April, Dr Locs will be an exhibitor of 19th Annual Taliah Wajeed Presents World’s Natural Hair & Beauty Show. This is a vital step towards building the Dr. Locs brand giving more national exposure within those two days in April.

In order to accomplish this goal I need your help and support.  This exhibition will require the most amount of bottles, ingredients, and labels I’ve ever purchased all at once. I'm asking for $5,000 that includes all the bottles, tops, ingredients, and labels that I'll need for the Natural Hair Show.

And because all funds have gone back into the business, this DRLOCS.COM extra funding would be required to reach this goal. I would greatly appreciate & need all supporters of Dr Locs to participate in order to reach the fundraising goal. Absolutely any dollar would be gratefully appreciated!
