Driving for Diners

Driving for Diners is a one-month adventure in filming the heart of America. Five Oberlin students will set out in a minivan on January 1st to circumnavigate the United States. From Ohio to New York City, and North Carolina to California, we will drop in at diners along the way; candidly interviewing the late-night coffee lovers. In search of stories, trucker friends, and a true American narrative, Driving for Diners will traverse the U.S. with a camera continiously rolling. Help us turn strangers into friends at Diners across America. Help us tell their story; help us tell ours.

Renting a van for the entire month of January is no cheap date, and in case you haven't noticed, gas is getting expensive these days. We need funding for gas, lodging, video equiment, and emergency expenses. We will do our best to camp and crash with friends and Oberlin Alums along the way, so let us know if you have a couch to spare!

For every $100 you donate, we will send you a signature souvenir and postcard from the town we are passing through. Craving some Seattle coffee or in desperate need of a Texas cowgirl hat? No problem! If you donate $200, you will receive two gifts from two separate towns; and so on and so forth. But every dollar counts, and we will appreciate any amount that you have to offer.

Lots of love,
Maya Moskowitz, Isaac Chabon, Evan Hogan Deyak, Sarah Knapp and Mwakudua Wa Ngure.
