OUR STORY:
The Dream to Dance Foundation was created by a member of the Melrose Dance Academy's Senior Competition Dance Team, Cali Lapenta. Cali was 16 years old and a junior at Saint Joseph Preparatory High School when she started the Foundation. She danced at Melrose Dance Academy for sixteen years and was captain of her team. With the help of her dance teacher, Amanda Bruno, Cali was able to start this Foundation. In May of 2017, Cali was featured as Channel 7 News’ Class Act for her work with the Foundation. Cali graduated from high school in 2017 and is currently pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
OUR MISSION:
The Dream to Dance Foundation is dedicated to giving deserving children the amazing opportunity to take a year of dance classes, build confidence, and learn the basics of dance. The Foundation allows children to live out their dreams of dancing! Our foundation uses the donations to give the following to the winning applicant:
• 1 class of the child’s choice
• The necessary dance shoes
• The necessary dance clothes
• 1 dance costume
• 1 Recital T-Shirt
• 2 Recital Tickets
