We are starting this Go Fund Me profile to ask for help with our family member, Chuy.
Chuy is a one year old kitten and needs a lot of help. 2 weeks ago he became lethargic, had diarrhea and began to bleed from his mouth. We rushed him to the vet, who in turn told us he needed immediate emergency attention and a transfusion because his red blood cells were way lower than normal (20%, 35 is the norm). We took him in and they began tests which all came back negative. He got a transfusion, an overnight stay and then more tests. No answers. Chuy then was moved across the building to the internal specialists and got more aggressive testing, such as a scope of the esophagus and stomach, a biopsy of some tissue and blood and a CT scan of his head. Still no answers except it looks like it's not cancer. He's a had a few transfusions now for bleeding which the doctors cannot pinpoint. We now have him at a different facility and getting a second opinion and we should have some more test reuslts soon and an even more aggressive plan.
This has been a trying ordeal for our poor baby. He's already a shy and timid little guy and this must be a nightmare. His brother, Hector, has been crying for him too and we need to get him back to him! We're doing all we can and putting up the fight of a lifetime. Our hearts have ached 24 hours a day since August 20th when this all began.
Needless to say this has been a huge financial burden. Each transfusion and overnight stay has cost $1000 and he needs them to live until we figure out what is wrong. We've already spent a huge amount of money and would happily spend more if we had it. That is why we are graciously turning to you. We need help financing what could be another round of tests and hopefully a treatment plan. Our goal is to offest some of the bills we've paid and finance the future plans for his health. We humbly ask for you to help us get Chuy back home and back to being the lovable and nurturing brother to Hector and living the happy life we intended to give him when we rescued him.
