Our 7 year oldest daughter Hallie, has been recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Hallie was dmitted to the hospital with a blood sugar level over 600. We have made numerous trips, hours away, to learn how to handle/cope with the situation, and to try and teach our precious daughter hiw to administer her own insulin.
Hallie has to be given insulin right now at least four times a day, as well as four finger sticks, however her levels haven't balanced yet. She is completely terrified, as are we. There is nothing more heartbreaking than hearing from your 7 year old, that she doesn't want to live the rest of her life like this.
My husband and I have both had to miss work and our insurance only covers part of the medicine and treatment that she is going to require. We have fallen behind on bills, and the medical bills are adding up. According to the American diabetes association, the average cost for health care for a person with diabetes is $13,741 a year. Hallie's supplies, and medicine will cost over $200 a month.
We need support from the community to help us with doctor bills, medical supplies, medicine and all the copays. And to show Hallie that there are people out there that support her and are there for her other than her parents. We share with her everything. Please, we are asking you to help us raise enough to get our baby the best treatment possible." Thank you, and God bless.
