Kambishi Wheelchair Transport
Donation protected
Hi everyone! We are Brett and Katey Hulewicz, currently serving as Peace Corps Volunteers in Kambishi Village, Northwestern Province, Zambia. In addition to our primary project as fisheries extenstion agents, we have been working with PET Zambia, through New Life Zambia, to provide two disabled gentlemen in our village, Oberton (Left) and Ackson, with "Personal Energy Transportation" wheelchairs. These are special, extra durable wheelchairs designed to be used on the rough, rocky terrain found in villages in Zambia. The wheelchairs will allow these men to be much more mobile within the village and will offer a lot of independence for them both. PET Zambia provides these wheelchairs at no cost to the villagers, but it is up to us to cover transportation cost from PET Zambia in Kitwe to our village. We are asking our friends and family back home to help out with this fee, which includes the rental of a truck and fuel costs.
