Dental Mission Trip to Haiti

Healthy smile often starts with good oral health, teeth free from cavities and gums free from disease. Poor oral health can extend to systemic diseases such as diabetes in people of all ages and respiratory disease, particularly among the elderly. From those who cannot afford dental care locally to those who have no access to medications and surgeries in third world countries, dental mission trips are an essential part to improving the quality of life for these populations.

Your Neighbourhood Dental Team was in Haiti January 2014. Our mission trip allowed us to teach prevention through education, extract hundreds of teeth to help restore health and relieve pain for more than 200 patients. The overwhelming demand reflected the unrealized need for and lack of access to dental care in Haiti. Fortunately, our team is growing and we will be returning to Haiti on January 20th-27th 2015!

Me, Benson Darsono is a dental hygienist and will be doing dental cleanings at Haiti. I will be going to Haiti for the first time! We are looking to bring oral hygiene care packages including toothbrushes and toothpaste, medications, in addition to other supplies that will aid in administering dental care to these patients.
