Help David Beat Cancer

Donation protected

My name is Lily Sixta. Two years ago, I married the man of my dreams. We have two beautiful children, Tyce who will be 3 in September and Ronnie who turned 1 in July. My husband’s name is David Sixta. He’s 25 years old and he’s a very loving, funny, athletic, hard-working and amazing husband, friend, and father. David and I planned to expand our family, however, we weren't expecting the news that we received six weeks ago.

My husband started noticing swelling and discomfort in his right testicle. He went to our Primary physician to get it checked out and was referred to a urologist for further investigation. Our worst nightmare had quickly become a reality.

David was immediately sent for blood tests and an X-ray. The results all indicated testicular cancer. A few days later, we saw the surgeon and the following morning David went in for a radical orchiectomy.

One thing quickly led to another and bad turned to worse. The oncologist we saw did not want David to have a single round of radiation, rather he said my husband needed four immediate, aggressive rounds of Chemotherapy.

The world crashed down as we realized that expanding our family naturally had become nearly impossible. Our only option was to harvest and freeze sperm as soon as possible. We gathered what little funds we could and managed to cover costs for the first year of storage expense with the sperm bank.

We’re extremely fortunate to have family able to come stay with us for additional love and support at this difficult time. This addition, however, has expenses of its own. On top of everything, with the chemotherapy treatments, my husband will be out of work for 7-10 days each month. I know that, without his income, we just can’t manage all the medications and our current living expenses. We don’t see how we can get by without additional help.

We’re hesitant to ask but, in our current situation, additional funding would bless our family beyond imagination.  If anyone is willing and able to contribute funds, we would overwhelmingly grateful. We know that David can beat this!

Please join us as we face this battle together. Those who aren’t financially able to contribute, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.  All your love and support is deeply felt. Thank you.

Sincerely,

the Sixta Family
