Help a reporter beat breast cancer

Danielle Ameden, 29, is a journalist working at a daily newspaper in Massachusetts. A Vermont native, she is currently living in West Newton with her longtime boyfriend, Joe.

Danielle has spent her career fighting to present the truth to her readers. Now she's fighting for her future.

She was diagnosed in Sept. 2014 with Stage 2 breast cancer - invasive ductal carcinoma - after discovering a lump in her left breast, despite the fact she has no family history or genetic markers. She's already had three surgeries, just started chemotherapy, and faces radiation and hormone therapy, as so many cancer patients do.

As if worrying about her health isn't enough, she's worried about paying for treatments.

Not only does she have thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket medical expenses now, she has an additional expense to protect her future. She and her partner hope to eventually start a family, but the cancer and chemicals leave her one choice - the very costly process of extracting and freezing her eggs.  Not only is she fighting for her life, but for the potential of having children when she's able.

Please consider helping Danielle. Every bit counts.
