Help us take care of Dawn!

Donation protected
Dawn has spent her life taking care of other people. Everyone who knows her has been touched by her heart and generosity. All money raised through this fundraiser will go toward helping her with medical expenses and recovery.

::UPDATE:: (9/18/14)

Thank you for all the prayers, support and love that has been shown to Dawn and her family these last several weeks. This fundraiser has been paramount in Dawn's life as the weekly medical expenses are having to be paid out of pocket and cash upfront. (Dawn is also on an unpaid leave of absence.) Please give what you can, if you can, and please continue to pray, as prayer works and Dawn is a testament of that!

Let me provide more specific details now and give you the latest update, one month later..

Having had an on-going headache for several days, that continually got worse, Dawn took 4 Tylenol on Monday the 17th and laid down for a nap. Dawn was found unresponsive in a coma on Tuesday 8/18/2014. She was found by her daughter around 9:30am and was rushed to the hospital by paramedics.

Dawn was rushed to a local Frisco hospital in critical condition. Initial concerns were that she had an aneurysm or stroke. She remained unresponsive and in a coma for 8 days. During this devastating time, it was found that her liver enzymes increased rapidly over several days and doctors were unable to slow the fast deterioration. She went into acute liver failure and soon after, kidney failure, and was put on full life support. She had aspirated in her sleep before she was found at home and was also battling an internal bacterial/staff infection and two lungs full of fluid (double pneumonia).

Dawn's family was notified of the failing organs with her heart expected to be next. Liver transplant was not, at that point, a viable option, nor kidney dialysis. Her blood clotting factor was non existent. At this time, her chances of survival or even coming out of a coma would be slim to none.

Miraculously, Dawn's organs and levels took a turn for the better. Her liver was working hard to repair itself and within 48 hours, her liver and kidney levels were within normal range. After 8 days on life support and 3 days off of sedation, Dawn woke up, stunned and humbled by everything she would learn about the last week and a half of her life.

Through this ordeal (thanks to you), Dawn had THOUSANDS of people, friends, family and strangers alike praying fervently for her healing. Doctors are still baffled by her quick healing for "no apparent reason", Dawn knows that all glory is to be given to GOD for his healing hands. Her Faith was strong before this incedent, and with proof of his grace and mercy, he heard all prayers, and she is now a living, breathing testament to His will.

Dawn came home from the hospital, with much support from her family and friends (including some of the best OT's and PT's in Texas), she is recovering well. Dawn is expected to make a FULL recovery! She still has double pneumonia and currently has suffered hairline fractures of her top two ribs from the severity of coughing. Her liver and kidney function levels are normal and being monitored closely. Dawn is being referred to, even by her Specialist, as a miracle with God having a hand in this.

What can you do to help now?

GIVE to this fund! Her prognosis is great but it will take months to recover. PRAY for her continued strength, complete healing and her kids to have peace. And If you don’t know her personally, take a look at who she is and how passionate she is about serving others (www.campcraigallen.org) You’ll see how much love this woman has and what she means to so many!

Or if you just want to send her a card or note:
