Pet Surgery for Little Man

Little Man is a Sealyham Terrier, an uncommon breed. He is almost 18 months old and has been diagnosed with an operable liver shunt. He is a fantastic, happy little dog who came to live with us several months ago when his first owners were going to put him to sleep.
We have tried to get him involved in liver shunt research programs but we have had no luck. Our time is running out to be able to save him. Our Specialty vet has given him about 4 weeks before we are out of time for his first surgery ($4,000-$5,000). He will need a second operation ($2,000-$3,000) to complete the repair.
He is a great, personable little guy who is always happy and loves nothing more than playing and snuggling. He is also turning out to have a great knack for agility. He has such an easy going personality.
We have never had to ask for help before but due to some unforeseen family difficulties we are asking now. We have four other rescue dogs that somehow made it into our home and are doing great. We dearly want to see this little guy make it.
