Food and Shelter For Loren

Once upon a time, I had a great, fun job shelving books at Borders.  It was a difficult time in my life - I'd learned not to trust people and was struggling to figure out my worth as a person.  The job could easily have been one more difficult thing with which to contend; instead, it became one of the highlights of my life.  My coworkers were flat-out amazing.  They gave me a safe space in which to relearn how to do more than survive.

Among them was a sweet yet irreverent young woman with a great love for Johnny Depp and Hunter S. Thompson.  Loren didn't know it, but she almost single-handedly restored my faith in the female half of the population.  We didn't work together nearly as long as I would have liked, but she's continued improving my life in the years since, simply by sharing the beauty of her spirit.

Now Loren is on the verge of homelessness.  It's a terrifying, lonely, and dehumanizing place to be.  She needs time to put things back together, to search for workable solutions to her problem.  For that, she needs a roof over her head and food on the table.  She needs safety for herself, her significant other, and her beloved fur friends.  I can't provide them, but as a group maybe we all can.
