Pickles the Sick Guinea Pig

Pickles is a Skinny Pig-- a hairless breed of guinea pigs. We saved him from being put down last month after seeing a post on facebook from his previous owners who were no longer willing to care for him.

When we brough him home, he was underweight, had nails so long and sharp that he was tearing at his own skin, was so dirty that his penis was unable to retarct into his body, his head was tilted(which is usualy a sign of a serious mite problem or an serious ear infection, which is uncommon in guinea pigs), and sneezed every few minutes.

We went shopping and bought him everything he needed as well as a few extras to spoil him with, but we did not anticipate the expenses that were coming our way.

Last week, despite our best efforts, Pickles started to develop lesions on his skin and developed a habit of scratching and shaking his head(another sign of an infection), and the expenses for vet visits, tests, and medications are more than I can handle right now. 

My family has come to love Pickles and we want nothing more to have him healthy and happy in our home, but in order to achieve that goal we need a little bit of help.
