Bring Crusty Home!

Two weeks ago, Crusty set out on an amazing cross country motorcycle adventure where he traveled the famous Route 66, from Chicago all the way to California. Unfortunately, on the very last day of the trip, only miles from the final destination, Crusty was involved in a devastating motorcycle crash. He was medflighted to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California, where he underwent emergency surgery on his right leg. However, the impact of the crash was so severe that he is now facing amputation below the knee. In addition to his shattered leg, he suffered a broken knee, a broken hand and substantial injuries to a shoulder, as well as numerous cuts and bruises. His family has been working nonstop, communicating with the doctors in California and doctors at Mass General. While there are many hurdles ahead, our first one is getting Crusty home. If we can get him home, within the next 24-48 hours, Crusty will be able to have his life-changing surgery here in Boston, where he can be surrounded by his large, loving network of family and friends. Otherwise he may be forced to stay in California for the surgery and weeks of rehabilitation. He needs his family for this journey and his family needs him!!
