Siddha Mandala - Land Purchase
Donation protected
To this day, the Buddhist traditions of the Himalayas, Tibetan and Newar, are heirs to the varied teachings of the Mahasiddhas. The most advanced meditation techniques, the textual transmissions of the Tantras, and a number of rituals involving refined yoga, music and dance, are the living echoes of their inconceivable compassion.
In honor of these revered masters, we are requesting support to buy land near Sankhu, Nepal, amongst the Vajracarya community that maintains the tradition of the Mahasiddhas. This area of Kathmandu valley is a holy place where many Mahasiddhas visited and practiced and home to one of the four major Vajrayogini shrines.
After securing land, we will erect a shrine dedicated to the Mahasiddhas and to Vajradhara, the Primordial Buddha they all realized.
The shrine for the 84 Mahasiddhas will be created in a traditional mandala style and will be a holy place for people to visit, to practice and to take part in the rituals of the tradition.
This sacred space will offer a natural connection to the realization and accomplishments of the Mahasiddhas, to their blessings and will also be an active site preserving the Zhije lineage and the traditions associated with the Mahasiddhas.
With the kind assistance of qualified Tibetan and Newar teachers, we will ensure that the rich learning, reflection and meditation transmitted from the Mahasiddhas will be continuously fostered within a living Mandala of Buddhist practice offering teachings and translations of texts.
This project operates under The Taklung Kagyu Foundation, a 501c3 organization. Any contributions are tax-deductible.
