Crescent Bar Launch Improvements

**10/30/2014 Update - we have hit our goal this project is happening!  The PUD is in the process of finalizing plans and drawings.  The Crescent Bar community did an amazing job raising these funds so quickly!  
I'm leaving the donations open a little longer so that we can raise a little extra for the dedication sign at the launch.

We have a unique opportunity at Crescent Bar to improve the community boat launch.   If we raise the funds the project will start the first part of November 2014.  We need help raising the funds urgently. 

Recent Events:  A crack in the Wanapum Dam below Vantage has made it necessary to lower the water by nearly 30 vertical feet.  Leaving the boat launch and navigation channels high and dry.   The Grant County PUD has expedited dredging plans and are in the process of dredging the navigation channel and making a swimming area at the public camp ground.   Water levels are expected to raise in November 2014.   The PUD and County do NOT have the funds to complete this project so it's up to the community and fans of Crescent Bar to make this happen.

Current Boat Launch:  The launch is currently only usable at normal water levels.  During times of low water the launch is basically unusable. 

Proposed Project:  To extend One (1) lane of the off island boat launch to be usable at all normal river levels.  This will include grading, pre-formed concrete pads to extend the launch.  

Urgency:  The equipment is currently mobilized at Crescent Bar to do the work.  This alone will save thousands in costs.  Additionally the PUD is confident the water will start to come back up to interim levels the middle or end of November.  We have a very short window to do the work before the water covers the launch.   If we miss the opportunity to do the work without water the costs go up dramatically and likely it won't get done for many years to come. 
 
Proceeds:  100%* of the funds will be donated to this GoFundMe account will go directly to the contractor or the Grant County PUD, and used for this boat launch improvement.  Due to liability insurance purposes it might be necessary to pay the PUD directly and have them pay the contractor.    *(Minus any fees charged by gofundme.com.)  

If every owner, visitor from Crescent Bar Island, Sunserra, Crescent View, Crescent Bay Resort, Trinidad, Little Crescent, North Park, South Park, White Condos, The Orchards, The Cliffs, Public Campground, Leisure Time/Thousand Trails, donate $75 we will meet our goal to have this project done.  Please don't delay we need to have the funds by November 1st.

Common Questions:

Q:  How much will this extend the current ramp?
A:  We will be adding approximately 50 feet to the ramp.  A single lane 15 feet wide will be added to the gas dock side of the boat ramp.

Q:  Is the PUD contributing to this project?
A:  The PUD is contributing $10,000 towards this project.  They did not give us a donation on the GoFundMe website so when the funds are transfered from my account to the PUD it will be reduced by the PUD contribution.

Q: Is the Grant County contributing to this project?
A: Not at this time.  Please make calls/emails to the County and Sherriff and ask them to contribute.  This will allow the Sherriff to patrol the river at all normal pool levels.  It's a safety issue. 

Q:  Who is the $10,000 donor? 
A:   I can't tell you.  =)  They are writing a check directly to the PUD.  The funds I transfer to the PUD will be reduced by this amount.

Q:  Are the permits ready to go.
A:  YES!  Permitted and ready to go.
