My sister and I:  Mariam and Shazi

We have played in the sand, dug in the dirt, made cloth houses on rooftops, swimming pools in bathtubs, jumped over into and under waves, eaten grit, talked laughed cried tussled wrestled and fallen together then risen up again, we've danced and loved and cooked and mourned and dreamed on hands and knees and on our backs looking up at the sky through trees, we've spent countless hours chatting on the phone while having the most amazing lifesong together:::

We've known each other all her life ; )  Our lives have been lived together and seperately; yet allways intertwined intersecting as we grew into and continue to grow into who we were and are becoming . . . bearing witness to one another's unfolding transformations . . .. I sang for my sister when I'd sing for no other and she'd sing with me and together we'd raise our voices and be a musical duo and now I sing to my mate (Michael) and five children (Layla, Ahmad, Isha, Anousheh, and Jasper), we sing together, but my sister :: she was the first to have ever heard my songs and joined in instead of wincing!!
She was there at my first baby's birth, watching wide eyed with wonder when Layla crowned and slid out onto the midwife and then her and Michael's hands . . . .

. . . . .  we've missed each others weddings as she couldn't get a visa to travel to mine.  I had just had our 5th baby about 7 weeks before hers:  Michael had already taken a month off to be at home after the birth so there was no way he could take more time off to drive out to Arizona for the wedding and we do travel as a pack and we drive everywhere together, so with five children it's pretty infrequent . . . . now that I think about it we haven't really gone on any trips in the last decade, so this would be a huge enormous gargantuan leaping voyage of discovery!!
She is having her own first wee one in May and the only thing keeping us from being there is 5000 miles and the funds to travel those miles.
I don't have a job job as I'm at home 24/7/365 with five kids who are educated at home with a Waldorf flair but I do make things that I sell from my Etsy shop (apocketofdreams), bake goods and have greeting cards that I sell locally, so I have a little bit put aside for the trip as everything else that gets earned is by Michael and it all goes into bills and feeding/clothing/educating seven people.
If you feel moved to contribute toward our trip or to pass this along then thank you thank you thank you thank you and you too :) We are deeply grateful for anything you feel called to donate toward making our 3 week journey from Virginia to Arizona possible. Thank you for your support in helping us to make this dream come true, where we hope to see Shazi holding her own like this :::sweet bliss!

**We're all making some gifts as offerings for your generous donation**

The Breathe Easy Chest Rub is made in a base of extra virgin olive oil that consists of hand picked pine needles, dandelion blossoms, freshly grown local ginger root, rosemary, and peppermint all infused at different times of the year then mixed and married with beeswax and essential oils of eucalyptus, rosemary, spruce, basil, peppermint, and wintergreen over the woodstove.  Our home smells amazing when this is being made!

The Healing Salve is a mixture of eight batches of extra virgin olive oil infused with plants gathered from spring to fall from either our garden where they self seed vigorously or from the wilderness around us where they grow in abundance and call to be picked, so for instance this year I didn't put up violet in an oil infusion but a couple of years ago I did or where a few years ago I didn't gather any cleavers or yarrow this year I did . . . the plants in this salve are calendula, chickweed, cleavers, chammomile, clover blossoms, comfrey, yarrow, and plantain with cocoa butter, beeswax, and a few drops of lavender essential oil.  We use it for just about everything from scrapes, burns, minor cuts, chapped skin, cracked skin, itches, bites, rashes, bruises, as a lip balm, hand and foot massage balm, and even a night time neck and face balm.

The Art Cards can be viewed at my etsy shop where you can get an idea of what they look like.  You can also request specific cards if you have particular ones that you'd really like.

Isha, Anousheh, and myself made these dolls together, let me know if you have a preference, the top one is the mother and the bottom is the crone :)

The action packed book details the adventures of the 69th Virginia Expeditionary Force mercenary group as they ply their trade across the war torn Inner Sphere. This book covers the years 3039-3047. 604 pages written by Michael; an unofficial work of fan fiction set in the BattleTech universe, completely raw and unedited!

We all get together and have singing/drumming sessions that are guided by whatever needs to be expressed, affirmed, or healed . . . they change and each session is different; the songs are impromptu and once sung they've come and gone and the only constants are the beats of our heart and the drum.  We will have specific gratitude sessions to honor each of your participation/s as our journey unfolds.

~*~Our expenses are for the seven of us over three weeks and include transportation, car rental, fuel, tolls, lodging, meals, possibly a house sitter to keep the chickens, dog, and cat fed during our absence, and miscellaneous expenses incurred when exploring new places and communities ~*~
